    Subsets: NEPTUNE, TF APOLLO

    1. Situation
    2. Area of Interest - AO Alaska
    3. Terrain
    4. Obstacles & Fields of Fire. AO Alaska is a dry savannah region with sparse amounts of dense foliage throughout, obscuring sightlines around objectives. Terrain around the objectives are mostly level. +/- 15m in elevation
    5. Avenues of Approach. MSRs provide access to AO Alaska from all directions. Movement through AO should be mostly unbothered, although potential for hasty ambushes and harassing attacks still present. 
    6. Key Terrain.  
    7. Cover and Concealment. Micro-terrain, trenches, and dense treelines provide cover/concealment for approaching friendly forces.
    8. Weather. Clear skies, light cloud cover
    9. Time and Light Conditions.  0445L, night/dawn light conditions



    1. Enemy Forces. 
    2. Size. Enemy elements operate in primarily Platoon-sized infantry elements of Islamic rebels split into squad-sized elements. Expect multiple platoons or even a company-sized fighting force to be operating within the AO.
    3. Capabilities. Heavily armed technicals (DShK, M2), Soviet-era armor (BMP, BTR, early T-Series Tanks), fanatical and driven troops, improvised explosive devices (IED/VBIED), suicide bombing tactics, possible MANPADs in AO
    4. Recent Activity. Enemy forces have begun their retreat from AO Alaska, bearing NW out of the AO.
    5. Expected Course of Action. Enemy likely to establish heavy defensive perimeter around HVT locations, with QRF on high alert. Expect heavy weapons and strong defensive posture.

    8. Adjacent Units. ODA 3336, C Co, 3rd BN, 3rd SFG(A) along with local military have established a screen to the West of Nederset and Kleinplek IOT contain the AO
    9. Supporting Units. 432d Wing (USAF) Drone Support.

    10. Civilian Considerations. Possible civilian presence within AOI Alaska. Tendency of enemy fighters to wear civilian clothing prompts careful PID
    11. Attachments/Detachments.  NA
    12.  Mission. Neptune Platoon, 10th Ranger Regiment, conducts a series of direct action point raids on POIs moving North to South throughout AO Alaska IOT kill/capture General Mandisa Zuberi and his lieutenants.
