    Operation BOER P1

    Execute: TBD

    Task Organization: 10RR

    Subsets: NEPTUNE, TF APOLLO

    1. Situation
      1. Area of Interest -NAI November
        1. Terrain
          1. Obstacles & Fields of Fire.
          2. NAI Archer is a lightly foliaged dry savannah region with clear sightlines for over 1km. The Enemy points in which locals attempted to make contact with are reinforced positions with sandbags, HESCO, and trenches that may force it to narrow breaches. The terrain around the focal points is characteristic of savannah and is generally open with small variations in micro terrain providing the bulk of cover and concealment.
          3. Avenues of Approach.
          4. Dirt MSRs provide access to the NAI from Eastern and Western directions. The heavily modified terrain including ramparts and armor traps heavily restrict movement. Hostile forces are heavily obscured and/or one sided sightlines limit approach from the air as the enemy would see any approaching helicopters and few isolated LZ exist. The Ambushed convoy remnants have a partial area secured for landing of Helicopters.
          5. Key Terrain.
          6. Thick isolated woodblocks on the SW and NE corners of the NAI offer the only solid concealment and cover for large vehicles or formations.
    2. Cover and Concealment.
    3. Micro Terrain, dirt mounds,trenches/craters, areas including trees provide the only breaks in line of sight.
    4. Weather.
    5. Clear, Hot, Dry.
    6. Time and Light Conditions.
    7. TBD

    1. Enemy Forces.
      1. Size.
      2. Enemy elements operating are primarily Islamic paramilitaries arrayed in Platoon sized infantry elements divided into squads operating in coordination of each other. It is expected to be a series of platoons culminating in a total NAI area strength of a reinforced Battalion with unknown size of QRF forces operating in the area.
      3. Capabilities.
      4. No armored capabilities but they have HMGs, MMGs, LMGs, RPGs, and grenades distributed commonly over their forces.
      5. Recent Activity.
      6. The enemy has neared completion on a heavily defended FOB/Firebase to restrict and control the flow of logistics including troop movements in the region. Local and it for some time. Friendly Air assets are expected and have encountered small arms fire with limited HMG’s.
      7. Expected Course of Action.
      8. Objective “Somme”
      9. Enemy is most likely expecting a heavy handed assault via armor and is extremely prepared. They are attempting a counteroffensive within the region. Hostile forces are radicalized, many of them are experienced insurgents from Iraq, Syria, Chechnya and Afghanistan as a result most will likely fight to the last man.

Poor communication among the main elements may cause temporary confusion but can be expected to re bolster defenses including the usage of IEDs/mines,Barbed wire and trenches on the northern and southern side of the FOB. As a result of these expected defenses a breakthrough is most viable from the Eastern and Western Flanks. Notable structures include Towers, and a Radar Station defended with infantry and Hesco Barriers. In terms of friendly Armored forces are expect to provide cover for infantry including the suppression and destruction of dug in emplacements whilst Aviation is expected to conduct the following.

Insert infantry forces to the East and West of the Objectives, Destroy the two towers in Obj “Somme” and finally Provide CAS for all friendly elements

    1. In regards to OBJ “Lancer” from previous intel reports a small detachment is expected to be heavily dug in utilizing hedgehog barbed wire, concrete walls and several structures.
    2. Objective “Sledgehammer” is made up by a small Hostile SF-Team and is lightly defended via Hesco barriers and lines of fire.
    3. Objective “Unabomber” extremely light fire team sized objective south of “Somme” main objective is the destruction of enemy IED factory
