NAI Archer is a lightly foliaged dry savannah region with clear sightlines for over 1km. The Enemy points in which locals attempted to make contact with are reinforced positions with sandbags, HESCO, and trenches that may force it to narrow breaches. The terrain around the focal points is characteristic of savannah and is generally open with small variations in micro terrain providing the bulk of cover and concealment.
Avenues of Approach.
Dirt MSRs provide access to the NAI from all directions. The Flat terrain allows a free approach. Open sightlines limit approach from the air as the enemy would see any approaching helicopters and few isolated LZ exist. The Ambushed convoy remnants have a partial area secured for landing of Helicopters.
Key Terrain.
Thick isolated woodblocks on the SW and NE corners of the NAI offer the only solid concealment and cover for large vehicles or formations.
Cover and Concealment.
Micro Terrain, dirt mounds, lone trees provide the only breaks in line of sight.
Weather.
Clear, Hot, Dry.

Enemy Forces.
Size.
Enemy elements operating are primarily Islamic paramilitaries arrayed in Light infantry cells operating independent of each other. It is expected to be a series of platoons culminating in a total NAI area strength of a reinforced company with unknown size of QRF forces operating in the area.
Capabilities.
No MANPAD or NVG capability but they have HMGs, MMGs, LMGs, RPGs, and grenades distributed commonly over their forces.
Recent Activity.
The enemy managed to ambush a friendly convoy and have been assaulting it for some time. Friendly Air assets have pushed the enemy back but they have focused into a few strongpoints and camps with mortars harrying friendly forces. They have also taken some captives and wounded back with them to use as human shields.
Expected Course of Action.
Enemy is most likely not expecting a punitive QRF and assault to rescue friendly troops. They are emboldened by recent success and will most likely have no other choice than to fight on their own. Poor communication among the cells may cause repeat reactions of shock and panicked defense.
