    Operation Grabber

    Execute: 06APR25 1800EST

    Task Organization: 10RR

    Subsets: NEPTUNE, TF APOLLO

    1. Situation
      1. Area of Interest - AO BACKSTOP
        1. Terrain
          1. Obstacles & Fields of Fire.
          2. AO Backstop rests at the base of the mountains to the north and west with the elevation gradually declining to the South East ending at a river. A tunnel entrance sits at the north central position with an MSR cutting south down the center of the AO. Almost parallel to the MSR is a dry creek bed that cuts vision. A ridge forms on the west side that offers a view over most of the AO. Thick trees and rocky ground break up the view due to micro terrain variations.
          3. Avenues of Approach.
          4. The MSR and dry creek offers the most direct, speedy route without trees or rough terrain. The East offers a few draws and shallow rises that could be navigated to approach from that direction.
          5. Key Terrain.
          6. West Edge ridge offers a commanding view over most of the AO with the only dead ground being the opposing hill and parts of the dry creek bed.
    2. Cover and Concealment.
    3. Dead ground and blind spots due to terrain elevation offers the best cover and concealment during maneuver. Dispersed trees and small rocks offer the best cover during firefights.
    4. Weather.
    5. Weather Forecasts show an 80% chance for sleet or rain showers.
    6. Time and Light Conditions.
    7. TBD

    1. Enemy Forces.
      1. Size.
      2. Unknown enemy, expected collection of multiple cells and militants, possibly an understrength battalion.
      3. Capabilities.
      4. Enemy is an irregular armed civilian clothed insurgent force augmented by rebels of the wolf brigade. They have no NVGs or MANPADs. They are expected to be using civilian vehicles modified for combat.
      5. Recent Activity.
      6. After our attack down the valley the enemy forces have been desperate to escape the area. They have massed in the south where most of their personnel are stationed and are moving to link up with their friendlies to our north.
      7. Expected Course of Action.
      8. Enemy is expected to fight on position until relieved by QRFs outside of the AO.
    2. Friendly Forces
      1. Higher Units.
      2. 10th RR
      3. Adjacent Units.
      4. N/A
      5. Supporting Units. 432d Wing (USAF) Drone Support.
    3. Civilian Considerations.
    4. Civilian population has not been evacuated and is still present. Our AO offers no known civilian structures but the combatants' nature to wear civilian clothing prompts careful PID.
    5. Attachments/Detachments.  NA
    6.  Mission.
    7. 10th RR is to assume a blocking position at the North-South tunnel and prevent enemy link up on the far side of the tunnel.
