    Operation Foxhole

    Execute: 0800 2/23/2025 Sa’hatra

    Mission loads in at 0700

    Task Organization: 10RR

    Subsets: NEPTUNE, APOLLO

    1. Situation
    2. Iraq
      1. Area of Interest - AO Lion
        1. Terrain
          1. Obstacles & Fields of Fire. AO Lion is just west of a major Crossroads and urban built up area. The MSR cuts the AO in a north and south half. The south half has small isolated farm plots. The North half has small built up areas separated by farm plots with a rocky open field at the northern extreme end.
          2. Avenues of Approach. The West-East MSR dominates maneuver routes and the highway gully sits on either side of the MSR allowing for concealed movement.
          3. Key Terrain.  The Primary Highway and small built up areas straddling the highway have moderate militarization prior to the war which has left some military towers and barricades present in the AO.
    3. Cover and Concealment. Each farm plot provides dead ground while prone and the Urban areas cut the relatively flat AO into manageable chunks.
    4. Weather. Clear and Hot.
    5. Time and Light Conditions.  The sun has just risen.

    1. Enemy Forces.
      1. Size. Remnants of Local Iraqi Forces using civilians vehicles and leftover BTRs.
      2. Capabilities. Enemy is remnants of Iraqi motorized infantry augmented by Syrian Airborne.
      3. Recent Activity. Small enemy blocking force has left to occupy our AO. The main body of the enemy has been forming up within civilian areas and prepping further down the MSR.
      4. Expected Course of Action. Enemy is expected to attempt to occupy the AO in order to fill the route with IEDs, abattis, and erect delaying position to slow TF Thunder.
    2. Friendly Forces
      1. Higher Units. TF Thunder - Commanding
      2. Adjacent Units. TF Thunder is 2 hours behind us and has detached its screening forces to FOB Fleat in order to begin preparatory operation ahead of its entrance to the AO. Elements of 1st Cav have split into two thrusts. One Battalion is defending FOB Flea, while a second battalion has pushed through the previously assaulted city to allow for a northern screen against expected enemy counter thrusts.
      3. Supporting Units. 432d Wing (USAF) Drone Support.
    3. Civilian Considerations. Civilian evacuation has been witnessed and only a few holdouts remain. Enemy military Personnel have been seen apprehending civilian vehicles. PID prior to engagement from ground or air.
