    Operation Foxhole

    Execute: 1200 11/25/2024 Basrah

    Mission loads in at 1200

    Task Organization: 10RR

    Subsets: NEPTUNE, APOLLO

    1. Situation
    2. Iraq
    3. Area of Interest - AO Granicus
    4. Area of Operations
    5. Terrain
    6. Obstacles & Fields of Fire. AO granicus is an area divided from the rest of the area by a river at the north and south end creating a pseudo island. Towns and thick elephant grass line the rivers around the fords. The rivers are low allowing ford access to be consistent and applicable for all vehicles. Dunes near OBJ Estonia allow for a clear view of all approaches from the south. Dunes at OBJ Lithuania provide easy access to the whole of the island.
    7. Avenues of Approach. The only ground route in and out are the three Objective zones. Rolling dunes allow for quick local dominance of the terrain.
    8. Key Terrain. Dunes in the NE of the AO and near OBJ Estonia provide clear avenues of fire across the AO.
    9. Cover and Concealment. Sparse rocks and shallow hills provide some limited range of view when low to the ground or in the saddles of the dunes.
    10. Weather. Clear and Hot.
    11. Time and Light Conditions. After night fell last night, TF thunder has cleared up to Basra. We have hopped in front in a move to secure an airbase that had been evacuated by the Iraqis. It is midday on the second day of the war.

    1. Enemy Forces.
    2. Size. Battalion Composite Group of primarily Iraqi Army with Platoon of AT attached.
    3. Capabilities. The Enemy is a Iraqi militia type infantry brigade with a large supplement of Iraqi regular army. These border units have been reinforced in the leadup to our breach, most likely mirroring our own buildup. NVG Capability is present on Iraqi Regular Army units.
    4. Recent Activity. Enemy is preparing on river crossings and digging in.
    5. Expected Course of Action. Enemy is likely to keep most of their combat power to the NE of the AO and move in to support the fixed defense points.

    6. Friendly Forces
    7. Higher Units. TF Thunder - Commanding

    8. Adjacent Units.TF Thunder Screen 2nd Brigade 1st Cav is situated just east of our AO and is securing oil infrastructure to prevent the enemy from using it to delay our assault.

    9. Supporting Units. 432d Wing (USAF) Drone Support.

    10. Civilian Considerations. No civilians are expected in AO granicus as the Iraqi military should have evacuated them.
    11. Attachments/Detachments.

    12. Mission.

10th RR will conduct a series of direct action maneuvers to seize and hold the 3 objective zones to seize control over the AO IOT allowing for easy encirclement for TF thunder strike into the city. Organized Enemy counter attack is expected.
